The Washington Wizards are getting a good look at their rookies

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Rookie Reports, Front Page by alleyoop on Monday 2 April 2012 at 9:32 am

The Wizards started Chris Singleton and Jan Vesely at forward last night as they are starting to get a good look at their rookies, and that is smart. 22-year old forward Chris Singleton has played in 52 games (37 starts) so far this year for the Wizards and he is averaging 22.0 minutes, 4.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 1.1 steals per game. He is only shooting 36.9% from the floor, which is pretty awful, but the Wizards are hoping he improves his shot selection with experience. 22-year old power forward Jan Vesely has played in 43 games (6 starts) for the Wizards so far this year and he is averaging 16.1 minutes, 3.5 points, 3.4 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game. 23-year old shooting guard Shelvin Mack has played in 50 games (0 starts) for the Wizards so far this year and he is averaging 11.5 minutes, 3.2 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. He is only shooting 38.4% from the floor so far this year though and that will need to improve before the Wizards can start giving him more P.T. 25-year old shooting guard Edwin Ubiles has played in 4 games (0 starts) for the Wizards so far this year and he is averaging 13.0 minutes, 3.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game. But, Ubiles is only shooting 27.8% from the floor so far this season.
