The new guys are stepping up for the Washington Wizards

27-year old shooting guard Cartier Martin and 30-year old forward James Singleton are stepping up for the Wizards. Martin has played in 9 games (0 starts) for the Wizards so far this year and he is averaging 22.6 minutes, 9.4 points, 4.0 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game. Singleton has played in 4 games (0 starts) for the Wizards so far this year and he is averaging 25.0 minutes, 10.5 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game as he is shooting a red hot 64% from the floor. The new guys have brought a lot of energy to the bench, and the Wizards hope they can keep up the good work.

The Wizards played great D last night as they held the Magic to 36.6% shooting from the floor. The Wizards outscored the Magic 33-24 in the 4th quarter to surge to victory last night. Kevin Seraphin (24 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 blocked shots) and Jordan Crawford (21 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal) led the way for the Wizards in this game. John Wall also had a solid game as he filled up the stat sheet with 15 points, 3 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot. James Singleton (12 points and 8 rebounds) and Cartier Martin (12 points) also pitched in for the Wizards. The Wizards are now 14-44 on the year.

The Wizards really took it to the Bobcats in Charlotte last night. The Wizards outrebounded the Bobcats 48-39 and they held them to 39% shooting from the floor. Jordan Crawford (20 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists), Cartier Martin (19 points, 6 rebounds and 1 blocked shot) and James Singleton (18 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocked shots) led the way for the Wizards last night. Roger Mason (17 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists) and Jan Vesely (11 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocked shots) also had rock solid games for the Wizards last night. Shelvin Mack (11 points) and Kevin Seraphin (10 points) also had pitched in for the Wizards in this game. The Wizards are now 13-44 on the year.

New Jersey Nets 110, Washington Wizards 98

The Wizards didn’t play much D last Friday Night as the Nets shot 56.3% from the floor and it did them in. John Wall (18 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal and 3 blocked shots) and Kevin Seraphin (15 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 blocked shots) led the way for the Wizards in this game. Roger Mason (15 points, 1 rebound and 1 steal in 20 minutes), James Singleton (12 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists in 26 minutes) and Shelvin Mack (10 points, 1 rebound and 8 assists in 19 minutes) also had solid games for the Wizards in this game. The Wizards are now 12-44 on the year.

The Wizards have signed 30-year old forward James Singleton to a 10-day contract. Singleton played in last night’s game against the Pistons and he played 14 scoreless minutes with 2 rebounds. Prior to this year, Singleton last played in the NBA in 2009-10 with the Wizards. He played in 231 games (9 starts) in his first four years in the NBA and he averaged 12.9 minutes, 3.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game.
