The Washington Wizards sign Earl Boykins

Blogged under General, Comings & Goings, Bloglockers, Big Wizards News, Front Page by alleyoop on Friday 13 November 2009 at 4:20 pm

The Wizards have signed 33-year old point guard Earl Boykins. Boykins last played during the 2007-08 season with the Charlotte Bobcats. He has played in 520 games (33 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 20.9 minutes, 9.4 points, 1.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. Boykins is only 5′5″, 133 pounds but he’s as fast as any player in the NBA. He should get a lot of playing time right off the bat for the Wizards with Randy Foye and Mike James hurting. The Wizards have released F/C Paul Davis to make room on the roster for Boykins. Davis played in 2 games (0 starts) for the Wizards this season and he averaged 4.0 minutes, 2.5 points and 1.5 assists per game. The Wizards won’t miss Davis too much if at all this season.
