Washington Wizards 102, Dallas Mavericks 91
The Wizards got off to a great start to the season last night winning Flip Saunders’ head coaching debut for the team. Gilbert Arenas led the way for the Wizards with 29 points, 2 rebounds and 9 assists. He looked fantastic both driving to the hoop and his outside shot looked smooth. Andray Blatche was outstanding off the bench with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. The Wizards hope he keeps giving them games like that while Antwan Jamison is out of action. Randy Foye had a solid debut for the Wizards with 19 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals off the bench. Caron Butler didn’t shoot too well in this game but he still finished up with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. The Wizards are now 1-0 on the season and looking good.
