Brendan Haywood is playing his best ball for the Washington Wizards

Brendan Haywood is stepping up and playing the best basketball of his NBA career right now. The Wizards need all of the help that they can get with Gilbert Arenas out and Haywood is doing his part. He has played in 14 games this season and he has averaged 27.1 minutes, 10.0 points, 8.4 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 1.8 blocks per game. The Wizards are hoping that Haywood’s play is not a mirage because they need his help this season.

The Washington Wizards lose Gilbert Arenas for the next three months

The Wizards will be without Gilbert Arenas for the next three months after he had surgery on his left knee. Arenas has played in 8 games this season (all starts) and he has averaged 39.5 minutes, 22.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 2.1 steals per game. Antonio Daniels will take over as the starting point guard for the Wizards and he has played in 10 games (2 starts) this season and he has averaged 22.5 minutes, 5.1 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game.

Washington Wizards 103, Indiana Pacers 90

The Wizards played good defense last night as they held the Pacers to 39.3% shooting from the floor and it was the big reason for the win last night. Gilbert Arenas had a awesome game for the Wizards with 30 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists. Caron Butler also had a great game with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Brendan Haywood was very solid around the basket with 16 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists. The Wizards are now 2-5 on the season.

The Wizards finally got a win on the season and they did it with rebounding and defense. The Wizards outrebounded the Hawks 53-41 in this game and they held them to 39% shooting from the floor. Caron Butler led the way for the Wizards with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Antwan Jamison also had a big game with 23 points, 15 rebounds and 2 assists. Gilbert Arenas stuffed the boxscore with 18 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals. Brendan Haywood did a good job near the basket with 13 points and 12 rebounds. The Wizards are now 1-5 on the season.

Denver Nuggets 118, Washington Wizards 92

The Wizards got blasted 33-11 in the third quarter of this game and they couldn’t recover. It didn’t help that the Wizards only shot 38.3% from the floor and allowed the Nuggets to shoot 51.1% in this game. Caron Butler led the way for the Wizards with 21 points and 4 rebounds. Gilbert Arenas (18 points, 4 assists and 4 steals) and Antwan Jamison (17 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals) each had decent games to back Butler up. The Wizards are now 0-5 on the season.
