Things were not looking too good at the start of the 4th quarter with the Wizards trailing the Bucks 85-76.  Then the Wizards flipped the switch and dominated the 4th quarter 40-26 to win the game.  Gilbert Arenas had a great game with 29 points, 5 rebounds & 11 assists.  Antwan Jamison backed Arenas up with 24 points & 8 rebounds.  Jarvis Hayes really helped out off of the bench with 15 points.  Caron Butler filled up the boxscore with 14 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.  Antonio Daniels was also huge off of the bench with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.  DeShawn Stevenson pitched in with 10 points.

What a great win for the Wizards who snatched victory from the Jaws of Defeat!  The Wizards are now 3-2 on the season.

Wizards fall to Magic 106-103

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 7 November 2006 at 3:37 pm

The Wizards have huge problems rebounding and playing defense and it hurt them last night.  The Magic shot 50.6% from the floor against the Wizards.  Antwan Jamison led the way for the Wizards with 29 points & 10 rebounds.  Gilbert Arenas scored 24 points, dished out 6 assists and stole the ball 4 times.  Center Etan Thomas had another fantastic game for the Wizards with 14 points, 15 rebounds and 6 blocked shots.  Caron Butler (16 points) and Antonio Daniels (10 points) each pitched in.

The Wizards need to fix their defense and rebounding or they will be in deep trouble as the season goes on.

Darius Songaila has surgery

Blogged under Injuries, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Monday 6 November 2006 at 6:04 pm

Songaila had surgery to repair a herniated disc in his lower back.  He will be out at least 10 weeks, putting his return sometime in January.  This hurts the Wizards, because they were depending on him to give Antwan Jamison a breather once in a while and keep him fresh.
